Austin Mobility
One of the most important issues affecting jobs is how quickly and easily people get to them.
Our ability to move freely around Austin is being threatened by our fast-growing population.
Austin Mobility is the City’s plan for a fresh approach to looking at the pieces – walking, biking, transit, and driving – to solve the transportation puzzle for all of us.
We are prioritizing affordable solutions so we can make a difference quickly, starting with the Nov. 2010 Mobility Bond package.
We are also tackling big projects to protect jobs and our quality of life – like improving highways and exploring Austin Urban Rail – as part of an effective regional network.
These efforts are guided by what values the Austin public ranked as important:
- Sustainable Growth
- Safety
- Regional Coordination
- Mobility Choices Efficiency
- Investment and Economic Development
- Environmental Stewardship
- Neighborhood Connectivity
